It was a bad idea before it was passed, it was a bad idea after it was passed and it will remain a bad idea from this point forward.
A few more of my feelings are below:
If grading schools using letter grades is stupid, what does that mean for grading students using letter grades?
For the most part students are graded using numeric grades.
In Texas, the state uses approximately 30 different data points to determine the “grade” of a school. If one sub-population is below par then the whole school will be graded as “not meeting standard”.
Example: If Hispanic males do not pass the Algebra I test then the whole school will be rated not meeting standard even if the rest of the school were superior.
That makes it a stupid system.
