Ramnath Subramanian: Strong student discipline at heart of successful schools

The following is one of the most accurate piece that has been written in a long time. 

Successful schools have strong student discipline. Teachers who teach at these campuses know that students who disrupt instruction will be removed from their classrooms forthwith, and face meaningful consequences for bad behavior.

Today, many schools in the U.S. may be classified as “failing” because of their weak-kneed attitude toward student discipline.

Take New York, for example. In recent months, several cellphone videos have surfaced which show students cussing out and, in more egregious instances, assaulting their teachers. Full Article
